Penguins in the tub started out as just a few hand drawings in pencil and ink. When scanned to a computer they came to life as soon as color was added.
The artwork itself is drawn by Myke Wilson and then digitally edited. It started out as just a few and then there were more and more until it transformed into what it is today. Each piece can take anywhere between 3- 6 hours from start to finish. A lot more editing is done on the newer works, as the coloring methods have evolved into what you see on a new peice of art. Myke intends to go back and color older art again to give it the look he really would like it to have. The newest art is now for the most part is all digital, using a Bamboo Wacom Tablet. The drawings themselves are usually ideas that pop into Myke's head at random times. For example Penguins Showering in bathtubs on the roof of a building. Ideas and themes try to stay orginal as possible. Myke tries not to borrow from other artist's styles too much and to stay orginal as possible but influences are there to be sure. If you would like to get in contact with Myke please send a email to Penguinsinthetub@gmail.com.
